About

Regan Murphy (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adult individuals and couples. Regan strives to provide a safe and reliable relationship, and to create an inviting space to promote discussion of your thoughts, feelings, actions, goals, and values. Regan approaches her role as a collaborator and coach. Her clients describe her as authentic, warm, approachable, and engaged. Regan will help you make room for challenging thoughts and feelings, develop skills to slow down before reacting, and learn more about what is important about your pain - so you can start to live mindfully and with meaning. Regan often incorporates mindfulness-based strategies into sessions and recommends between-session work to her clients. These strategies are effective approaches to help clients raise awareness of thoughts, emotions, impulses and relational patterns. Regan will help you become ready for change by supporting your journey towards identifying barriers that are holding you back. She will work with you to increase your motivation and self-compassion, and help you enhance your capacity to respond to stressors. Regan works from evidenced based-therapy approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy. She is LGBTQIA+ friendly, and incorporates Health at Every Size (HAES), Intuitive Eating and Joyful Movement into her work. She has particular expertise and interest in helping people impacted by anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, life/career transitions, and family/relationship issues. She also enjoys helping couples build friendship and intimacy, improve communication and conflict resolution skills, and develop a shared life vision. Regan earned her master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Chicago, and her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University. Before pursuing a career as a therapist, Regan spent several years working in sales & marketing for media companies. In her free time, Regan enjoys yoga and gardening. Hours: Monday - Friday 1pm-5pm
